Sarah and Tom’s wedding was a photographer’s dream. From their outgoing and friendly personalities, to the intricate details at the reception, I had an absolute joy spending August 11th photographing their new marriage. It was my first time at the Barn at Fallingwater and I cannot wait to go back next year. Having a wedding in the woods and finishing it off in a beautiful barn is so picture-perfect to me and I’m pretty sure Sarah and Tom’s guests would agree. It was quite the Fayette County affair!
Everyone got ready in the old farmhouse next to the barn and it made the perfect setting for pictures!
I just loved the blue colors and orange chair in the room. So vintage-y!
And the beautiful details started. I loved Sarah’s cobalt blue shoes and her flowers were to die for. Neubauer’s in Uniontown, PA did a fabulous job with the florals!
The girls’ beautifully un-matched dresses, the floral wallpaper, blue colors and orange chair made this seem like a vintage Vogue photo! Or at least that’s what I thought.
Sarah was pretty smile-y most of the day.
Never seen a ceremony backdrop like this! Totally cool!!!
My mom captured this shot…right before her walk down the aisle.
A wedding ceremony in the woods. Love it!
My mom also captured this sweet moment. I’m beginning to like having a second shooter.
We took the typical formal family pictures, but a few family members requested we have some fun…
Apparently this is what Sarah and her sisters call “the ugly face”…haha.
Some pictures in front of the beautiful barn…
Don’t you just love the bridesmaids’ dresses? They all wore something completely different! Check out more of this fab idea in yesterday’s blog post!
And now for the beautifully decorated barn! Don’t you just love it!?!? My favorite part was the handmade bunting…
Sarah’s mom collected the various table coverings…
I love first dance pictures in a barn…
No DJ, just a bluegrass band = AWESOME! They kept the party going!
Their signature drink (on the left) included lemonade, whiskey and blueberries. YUM!
Sarah’s family is Irish so there was some Irish dancing!
How cute is grandma!?!
Oh my goodness…Sarah knows how to party!
Instead of an official sparkler exit at the end of the night, Sarah and Tom passed out sparklers and lighters and let their guests have fun. They literally played with fire, but it was a perfect activity for the evening and kept everyone relaxed and in good spirits. Definitely a great idea!
Sarah and Tom, thank you so much for having me at your most picture-perfect and super fun day! I love that you came to Fayette County for a destination-ish wedding and chose such a unique venue to tie the knot! I’d photograph (and hang out with!) you guys any day! CONGRATS you crazy kids.
