Yesterday I shared film scans from some of my first rolls of film. Today, I’m still sharing some of those first rolls, but this post is all about weddings in film! Exciting!
I haven’t experimented with film at every single wedding because I don’t want to overwhelm myself…working two cameras and two flashes on my own is hard enough sometimes! But as I continue to improve and feel more comfortable, I’ll be excited to offer it to most clients as an added bonus.
The first wedding in film was Genesis and Daniel’s downtown Morgantown affair. I saved most of my roll for their outdoor rooftop reception because I knew it would be pretty film-appropriate.
I love this shot! A wonderful image to cap off their wedding day.
Then there was Rachel and David’s Maine destination-ish wedding! Rachel told me a while back that she loved the look of film, so I promised I’d shoot a little at her wedding. This was my first black and white roll…
So the images aren’t perfect, but they’re different and classic…and that’s something unique that I’m hoping to offer to all my clients in the future. Until then, I’ll keep practicing…and maybe upgrade to a better, more professional film camera.
