Emily & Matt: Morgantown, WV Engagement Portraits

He’s tall and she’s short (except when she wears her heels!). He’s got a shaved head and she’s got a head full of beautiful hair. He went to Marshall and she went to WVU (BIG rivals in the great state of WV). Matt and Emily are obvious opposites, but don’t opposites typically attract? There was no doubt of the attraction between the two during their session. They were comfortable with each other in front of the camera from the first push of the shutter and they weren’t afraid to show some of their true (silly) colors together as a couple.

I was immediately thankful and grateful that they chose me as their photographer. Matt and Emily are so much of what I strive to attract in my couples and they reminded me that many of my recent and future couples are ideal for JFP. I’ve learned that it’s not all about the number of weddings I book or the amount of money I make. It’s about working with couples that allow my talents to shine 100% and push my creative juices just a little further.  And that’s exactly what I’m finding in my couples and I couldn’t be happier. :)

So here’s Emily and Matt. They are super cute and super photogenic, and I think this might be my best engagement session to date. These pictures help describe and display the fun, fresh and colorful identity of me and my business SO WELL! I’m so thrilled with what we captured!

See! Cute right from the start!

They’re just…pretty!

With Matt and Emily’s opposites in size, this worked out perfectly! Not to mention it was a great way to show off Emily’s heels. :)

I love their genuine happy smiles in the next few…

My mother-in-law got me this colorful, quilted blanket and it currently decorates Ally’s room. I grabbed it at the last minute and was so glad it fit the session perfectly!

Their true (silly) colors starting to come out…

I absolutely LOVE the light in this one! The setting sun was PERFECT!!!

Emily has this cute little scrunchie nose smile and I love it!

Spiderman kiss!

This one is so romantic, don’t ya think!?! :)

Love under the willow tree. :)

What better way to show off the Cheat Lake Park than with some dock pictures!

Ahhh!!! Aren’t they just the cutest!?!

On our way to the park, I noticed the interstate stretching across the mountainside and knew it would make a super cool backdrop! JFP lives on the edge. :)

Then I spotted this! Yep, we were sitting directly beneath the interstate! Who knew it could be such a beautiful location!?!

A session fave right here!!

They asked that we do some “house divided” pictures to show their Marshall-WVU rivalry. Emily and Matt were able to overcome the bitterness between the two schools and love each other anyway. :)

This is another session fave for me.

Emily’s idea! This was the icing on the cake for me! :)

Emily and Matt, I am beyond pumped for your wedding day! We captured SO MANY beautiful pictures during engagement session, we’re bound to capture so many more on your wedding day! Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of this special time in your lives. :)
