Elizabeth & Chad: Spring Meadow Farm Wedding, Mt. Solon, VA

Elizabeth and Chad are another one of my Bridgewater College couples. I love returning to the south to not only shoot weddings of fellow BCers, but to also drive through campus. :) It’s so nice going back to such a special place and the weddings I’ve done in the area have been nothing short of special themselves.

The love that Elizabeth and Chad share was completely evident on their wedding day. I enjoyed watching them just be genuinely excited to be married. As they walked down the aisle as a married couple, they smiled, leaped and threw up their hands in pure joy. During their portraits, I’d ask them to look at each other for a few shots and Elizabeth would unexpectedly smooch on Chad and they’d playfully laugh together.

Elizabeth’s family grew and put together the ceremony floral and greenery display and her dad built the arbor. Elizabeth’s mom sewed she and Chad’s wedding date in blue into a piece of ribbon that Elizabeth used to wear when she was a little girl and that was then placed in the hem of Elizabeth’s gown. The junior groomsmen was Elizabeth’s little brother from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Elizabeth and Chad gifted a fisherman’s vest to the ring bearer and Elizabeth even put together a wedding day survival kit for her groom. There were so many elements that were genuine and appreciated that made this wedding extra special.

I love a wedding with cowboy boots!

Picking out the spot for Elizabeth’s something old and something blue…the piece of ribbon that her mom sewed!

Something old and something blue…

I love cowboy boots, but pink little girl cowboy boots!?! OMG!!!

Here’s the floral and greenery display put together by Elizabeth’s family. And that arbor…didn’t her dad do such a great job??

I loved the greenery growing on the logs…

Elizabeth decided that she and her bridesmaids were walking in their bare feet for the ceremony so there’d be no sinking of heels, and so they’d be more comfortable. Their cowboy boots made a great decoration at the ceremony instead!

A lovely dad-walking-daughter-down-the-aisle moment!

Their man band picture. :)

Beautiful bride! Love these portraits!

A little film-like action. Definitely fitting for this wedding.

Fun fact: the bridesmaids all wore the same dress, they just wrapped them differently. Definitely one of the coolest wedding details I’ve ever seen!

This is what I call my 5th grade friends picture. You remember…gathering a bunch of your friends in a cluster and smiling for the camera!? You know you’ve all done at it at some point in your lives. :)

Not sure what happened here, I just know their laughing together made for some great pictures.

This is right after Elizabeth unexpectedly smooched Chad! Extra special and super cute.

Party in the barn!

The greenery and home-grown decor carried into the reception…

So you know how a lot of couples will place signs and pictures from the places they’ve been together on tables at the reception?? Well Elizabeth and Chad took that one step further. They had the signs and pictures, but they also added accessories! A CD and band t-shirt accompanied the Hackens Boys tables, a baseball and glove accompanied the ballfield tables and paint samples and flower seeds accompanied their house tables. Told ya their wedding was extra special. ;)

Oh! And they served homemade, hand-dipped ice cream!!!

One of my fave pictures from the day. :)

Thanks so much for inviting me to capture your extra special day, Elizabeth and Chad. I felt right at home with you guys, not just because you went to BC with me, but because you were friendly and genuinely happy. A beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple! CONGRATS!

Your pictures are beautiful. My daughter wants to get married at Spring Meadows and I can not find a contact number nor a website. Could you pass along that information to me? Thanks for your help!

Hi Julie! You’re actually not the first person that’s asked me that question. Elizabeth (the bride in the post) said to contact Lincoln Travel Agency in Bridgewater because they are owned by the same people. You may want to suggest they get some sort of website, too, especially since you’re not the first person to have asked me. Thanks for stopping by the blog! :)
