Corinne is one of my husband’s first cousins (I think he has 16 total), so that makes she and I cousins-ish.
Anyways, she recently posted a picture of her kool-aid dipped blonde, curly hair on Facebook and I found myself immediately inspired! Kool-aid dipped hair + Corinne’s mysterious look + the woods at our new property + some earthy tones + an edgy vibe = the vision I quickly put together. Corinne agreed to humor my idea and inspiration and I was anxious to actually get this done!
Not only was this going to be a session like no other, but it was also going to be a fun, no-pressure, practice-my-skills opportunity. Almost 100% of the time I’m shooting for others, but this time I was shooting for myself. If I wanted to try something new and I screwed up, no biggie. My creative juices could have free reign and I didn’t have to feel guilty about trial and error. We did the session in late morning, which means the light wasn’t ideal, but that was a challenge for me and another opportunity to learn. I also got to take some extra time and whip out the film camera to practice that as well (those to come in another post).
And because the session was my idea and Corinne wasn’t a paying customer, I took Ally along since we met on a weekday. I would never do that for a regular paid session, just so you know, but you’ll see a couple of her pictures pop up throughout this post.
Are you ready for this!?! Corinne did pretty stellar in front of the camera and totally ROCKED it! She really made my vision come to life!
Ally just couldn’t leave Corinne alone. Probably because she’s way cooler than mama with her trendy clothes and mounds of playful jewelry…
LOVE the colors!!!
Isn’t her hair awesome!?! If I had longer hair, I’d totally try the kool-aid dip dying! I also loved how Corinne could go from super serious to smiley and light-hearted in 2.2 seconds!
Something a little different for me…but that’s what this session was all about. No pressure, just have fun and try new things!
Corinne brought loads of cool clothes and it was fun picking and choosing different combinations. I suggested the teal shoes as an added pop of color.
A session favorite!
I like this one a lot, too!
Check out our “dressing room” in the woods! Ally LOVED playing with Corinne’s jewelry. See, I told you she was way cooler than me.
Another cool-io outfit change! This combo was Corinne’s idea and she was right, it did look pretty rad together.
Mustache necklace! This one’s for you, Krista!
Who just poses like that!?! Someone that should be a model, that’s who!!!
This area sits just beyond a small clearing in the woods on our property. We’re hoping to make this part of our fire pit/hang out/hideaway area. I cannot wait to build our house and move! And do more sessions in these woods, of course.
I feel like these next few are Taylor Swift-y…
FAVORITES!!!
Another favorite!!! Such a beautiful pose and a beautiful girl.
So what do you think?? Corinne totally rocked it, right?? I cannot wait to do more sessions in the woods at our property! Who’s up for one after we move in?? Leave me a comment if you are. And leave Corinne some love, too.
Thanks for everything, Corinne! You were beyond awesome!!!

These are very good pictures and you are correct, Corinne does make a very beautiful model…Don’t know how Evie or Corinne could make a selection of which to choose, they are all so great. Good Job!!
